❈ TNP Mission Statement

The Napkins Project is an initiative dedicated to improving the menstrual health of girls in developing parts of the world, one village at a time.

Why is this so important? For many girls, lack of easy access to sanitary menstrual products can lead to higher rates of infection and disease, and in severe cases, sterility. These girls are reduced to using cloth rags, leaves, newspapers, or even the hides of dead animals. Compounding the socioeconomic disadvantage that these girls already face, a lack of clean menstrual napkins can also lead to missing multiple days of school every month.

Our goal is to provide a sustainable, cost-efficient supply of sanitary napkins to the girls in developing areas around the world. Our strategy is to create partnerships with leading manufacturers as well as local community organizations to help facilitate the distribution of napkins to villages in need. Thanks to our sponsors and partners, a simple $8 donation can now provide a girl with over a year’s worth of clean, safe sanitary napkins.

As of this year, we have provided hundreds of girls with over 20,000 free napkin shipments, and our goal is to quadruple this number by the end of 2014.  Thank you to everyone who helped us fundraise and spread the word! We could have never have done it with you.
